The Hydrophobic Additive is a special additive designed for the production of concrete and mortars with enhanced water resistance, aiming to provide additional waterproofing.
The Hydrophobic Additive (produced by Plast-Bet) is recommended for pouring foundations, building basements, pool bases, paving slabs, fences, small decorative concrete products, and for large-scale waterproofing of surfaces exposed to water, including rainwater or soil moisture. It is also suitable for terrace and balcony arrangements, concrete drainage and drainage systems, as well as for preparing surfaces and screeds before laying tiles or slabs on open horizontal surfaces.
The Hydrophobic Additive from Plast-Bet helps to hydrophobize the pores of the concrete and allows the reduction of water absorption in finished concrete products by two or more times. It increases the plasticity and final strength of the concrete, extends the lifespan of concrete structures, and prevents the formation of efflorescence.
It also increases resistance to frost, cracking, and abrasion, does not cause corrosion of metal elements or cement stone, and reduces the risk of fungal and mold growth.
The Hydrophobic Additive from Plast-Bet should be applied at a rate of 0.5 – 0.8 liters for every 50 kg of cement.
